At Open Wings, we are thrilled to celebrate our tenth year of serving students in Southeast Wisconsin. Our school was originally designed to welcome and teach students who are marginalized in more traditional school settings and their siblings. In particular, we welcome and support neurodiverse students, including students with autism, ADHD, or sensory processing disorder.
We have remained true to our mission through the years and have taught and learned from many interesting students in our classrooms. As we figure out what students need to learn and thrive in our school community, we watch them grow into people who will make a difference in the lives of others outside of our school.
We hold tight to Martin Luther King’s belief, “Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” Every student desires to learn, every student wants to be part of a community built from meaningful relationships, and every student can soar. When students experience successful learning, their families are more stable, and they become contributing members of our society. This work happens with a team of extremely dedicated educators who brilliantly individualize the educational experiences of each Open Wings student day after day, and hour after hour.
